Aly Edwards is the Social Service Programs Director, overseeing the Angel Arms Permanent Supportive Housing program, as well as Trinity Group Homes. Aly has worked at St Vincent de Paul North Idaho since 2018, first as a Case Manager for the Angel Arms program, and recently accepted her director position. Aly has a passion for helping others succeed and it shows!

Winter Warming Center
The St. Vincent’s Winter Warming Center is for friends and neighbors in our community who have fallen on hard times. When the temperature dips below 28 degrees, it is open for anyone who does not have protection from the cold, wind, and snow. We open in November, and typically stay open until the end of February. The doors open at 6:00 pm, and everyone must be out by 7:00 am the next morning. A prepacked meal is provided, and everyone receives a mat to sleep on, and a new sleeping bag as well as hygiene gear and socks. We try to keep a friendly and upbeat atmosphere, while obeying safety rules.If you are able to help or donate please contact the SVDP HELP Center at 208-664-3095.

St. Vincent de Paul gives job seekers the resources they need to get into the workplace with a potential employer. A job interview starts the instant the job seeker walks through the door, and to be taken seriously they need the right look.

Case Management
Case Management services are a way to help clients be accountable for their own lives, as well as the assistance they receive. Working with a skilled Case Manager, clients build an individualized case plan that maps out their goals and their path to success and self-reliance. Case Managers offer support, direction, referrals, and accountability, while meeting with clients as often as necessary.

ICARE
Parenting is one of the toughest and most important jobs we will ever do, and we all have a stake in the outcome. Research shows that parents who have the tools, resources and support they need are more likely to raise safe, healthy and productive children.Toward that end, ICARE offers an array of best-practice parenting classes including Nurturing Parenting and Nurturing Fathers. These classes are offered at the HELP Center and in elementary schools around Kootenai County. A best-practice child sexual abuse prevention class is available as well.The heart of the ICARE Program is our Home Visits. Our nationally certified parent educators can do a series of individualized Home Visits to better meet the needs of specific high risk families. Strengthening families benefits us all.The ICARE Program is dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect and committed to making Kootenai County a better, safe place for our most precious resources – our children.Housed at the HELP Center, 201 E. St. Vincent de Paul’s North Idaho’s HELP Center is the entry point for most of our self-sufficiency programs. St. Vincent de Paul’s North Idaho provides a diaper bank for individuals and families with infants and toddlers. -
Homeless Connect
To ensure those experiencing a housing crisis have fair and equal access to housing and services, an individual or family at risk of, or experiencing homelessness can begin the process of screening for these services at a centralized location in each region.
St. Vincent de Paul serves as the access point for Region 1 and covers the five northern counties of Idaho. Rental Assistance
St. Vincent de Paul’s North Idaho can assist with rent and/or utility payments depending upon available funding paid once in a 36- month period for each household.
Residents must provide an eviction notice and copy of lease for past due rent. First month's rent help requires a copy of rental application. For utility assistance. residents must provide a past due or shut off notice.
Clients also need:- Identification cards for every adult in household
- Social Security cards for everyone in home
- Verification of current income
- Proof of residency

Vouchers may be available to help those in need secure a state-issued identification card. This is often the first step in being able to secure employment and housing.

Utility Assistance
St. Vincent de Paul offers emergency assistance for individuals and families who are in crisis and have an eviction notice and/or a shut off notice for utilities.Documents for General Assistance- Photo ID for all adults and children who reside in the household
- Social security cards for household members (including children)
- Proof of current income (past 30 days) for all adults
- Prefer that all adults be present
- Must be a resident of Kootenai county
Rental Assistance- Lease and eviction notice
Utility assistance- Lease and shut-off notice
Assistance is available on a first come, first served basis.
Hours are Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. -
