Partnering with Parents to Build Stronger Families
Mission statement – ICARE was founded in 1992, with the mission of reducing child abuse and neglect in North Idaho by providing education and support services for at-risk families and children. ICARE partners with parents to build stronger families, reducing risk factors that increasingly challenge families today and offering strategies for strengthening families in need of extra support.
Using the Nurturing Parenting Program, we help parents gain skills, strengthen their child’s development, and clear the path to the whole family’s health and success. Our home visitors will work in a culturally respectful way to build trusting relationships with your family, meeting you when and where it works for you. Additionally, we connect parents to community resources for family health and basic needs.
Idaho Department of Health & Welfare and the court system recognizes the ICARE Nurturing Skills for Families, Nurturing Fathers Program & Circle of Security Parenting as preferred programs for mandated participants.
A Mission Built by Faith & Community
For 80 years, this region has carried forward a mission built by faith and strengthened by community: feeding families, housing individuals, offering warmth during the coldest nights, and opening doors for people who feel forgotten.
The next 80 years will be shaped by partners who believe in investing in the wellbeing of their neighbors. You make it possible for children to sleep safely, for seniors to stay warm, for families to access support, and for individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity. Thank you!
